Super Mario 64 is a groundbreaking 3D platformer game released by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 in 1996. It is considered one of the most influential and significant games of all time, as it paved the way for the 3D platforming era and revolutionized the video game world. As one of the first major games on the Nintendo 64, it set new standards for the genre and for game development as a whole.

The plot of Super Mario 64 follows the classic story of Mario, who is invited by Princess Peach to visit Peach's castle. But when Mario arrives there, he is lured into a trap by Bowser, the evil king of the Koopas. Bowser has taken over the castle and stolen the power stars that keep the peace in the castle. Mario has to fight his way through various worlds to recapture the Power Stars and rescue Princess Peach.

The game follows a simple but effective structure in which Mario goes in search of the Power Stars in order to face the final boss fight against Bowser and recapture the castle.
