Green Beret (jap. グリーンベレー) is an action-packed run-and-gun game developed by Konami for arcade machines in 1985. The Famicom Disk System version was released exclusively in Japan on April 10, 1987 and differs in some aspects from the later NES version, which became known internationally under the title Rush'n Attack.
In Green Beret, the player takes on the role of a US special agent who finds himself in enemy territory in order to free prisoners of war and prevent an impending nuclear catastrophe. The game features six horizontally scrolling levels, including a missile base, an airport, a harbor, a forest, a warehouse and an enemy base. The player has to fight his way through these areas by fighting enemies with a knife and collecting various weapons such as bazookas and hand grenades. The game is characterized by its high level of difficulty and the need for precise timing.
