Call of Duty: Ghosts

Call of Duty: Ghosts is an action-packed first-person shooter from Infinity Ward that was released for the PlayStation 3 in 2013. The title marks the tenth main installment in the popular Call of Duty series and features a new story as well as numerous new multiplayer and co-op features.

Call of Duty: Ghosts' single-player campaign centers on an elite unit called "Ghosts" facing a new threat: a South American superpower that has launched a devastating attack on the United States. Players experience the conflict from the perspective of two brothers fighting in spectacular missions around the globe - from destroyed cities to underwater bases to battles in space. The story is cinematically staged and offers the typical bombastic moments that Call of Duty is known for.

The multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Ghosts focuses on customization like never before. For the first time, players can design their own soldiers - including female characters - and choose from over 20,000 combinations of equipment, clothing and perks. Numerous new game modes such as "Cranked" or "Search & Rescue" bring a breath of fresh air to the tried-and-tested system. The maps are varied and can even be changed in some cases, which opens up new tactical possibilities.

In Call of Duty: Ghosts, the co-op mode "Extinction", in which you fight together against alien creatures, is particularly popular with many players. This mode is an exciting alternative to the classic zombie mode and offers its own small campaign.

Technically, Call of Duty: Ghosts runs solidly on the PS3, even if it can't quite keep up graphically with the versions for PlayStation 4 or PC. The effects, animations and soundtrack are nevertheless convincing and ensure an intense gaming experience - even on older hardware.

Overall, Call of Duty: Ghosts is a worthy series spin-off that has a lot to offer both solo players and multiplayer fans. Despite some weaknesses, such as the somewhat generic story and the not fully developed map structure in multiplayer, the game impresses with its scope, strong atmosphere and many customization options.
