Miasma Chronicles

Miasma Chronicles is a tactical role-playing game that takes you into a post-apocalyptic world full of secrets, dangers and destructive powers. At the center of the story is Elvis, a young man with a mysterious high-tech glove who can control the sinister substance called "Miasma". At his side is his robotic brother Diggs - together they embark on an emotional and dangerous journey through a destroyed America to find answers to their past and the origin of the miasma.

The gameplay of Miasma Chronicles combines XCOM-style strategic combat with free exploration and stealth elements. You sneak through devastated cities, prepare battles in secret and make clever use of cover and positioning. In the turn-based battles, it's all about a clever approach, tactical skills and the targeted use of special powers - especially Elivs' Miasma Gauntlet, with which you can unleash powerful effects.

The flexible difficulty is particularly noteworthy: from beginner-friendly modes with a reduced random factor to demanding challenges for tactics pros, the game offers something for everyone. You can also develop your team individually - skills can be adjusted and even reset to try out different strategies.

Atmospherically, Miasma Chronicles convinces with a dark end-time setting, strong dialog and an emotional narrative style. The visual presentation is raw and atmospheric, even if minor technical weaknesses - such as in animations or performance - are occasionally noticeable.

The game was developed by The Bearded Ladies, the creators of Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, which is clearly reflected in the style and game mechanics. Thanks to DualSense support and adapted feedback, the PS5 version also takes advantage of the current console generation.
