Red Steel is a first-person shooter that was released as a launch title for the Nintendo Wii in 2006. Developed by Ubisoft, Red Steel uses the Wii's innovative motion controls to offer a unique gaming experience. The story of Red Steel revolves around American hero Scott Munro, who finds himself on an action-packed quest for revenge in Japan after his girlfriend is kidnapped by a Yakuza gang.

The highlight of Red Steel is the mixture of firearms and swordplay, with the Wii Remote being used as a sword to execute precise sword attacks. At the same time, players in Red Steel can operate weapons such as pistols, shotguns and machine guns with the remote and Nunchuk. These motion controls in Red Steel are designed to enhance the feeling of being right in the middle of the action-packed battles, even if the controls take some getting used to at first.

Despite its unique controls and intriguing concept, Red Steel received mixed reviews. Red Steel's graphics were quite solid for the Wii, but limited, and the game's story and AI were considered rather average. Nevertheless, Red Steel offers a fun experience for fans of shooters and action games, especially in the intense sword-fighting sections.
