Tom and Jerry for the SNES is a classic platform game released by Hi-Tech Expressions in 1993. Based on the famous cartoon series by Hanna-Barbera, in Tom and Jerry players take on the role of the clever mouse Jerry, who - as always - escapes from the clumsy cat Tom and fights his way through a variety of chaotic levels.

The story of Tom and Jerry is simple and typical of the series: Tom has kidnapped Jerry's little nephew Tuffy, and now it's up to Jerry to rescue him. On his way, he passes through various themed environments in typical cartoon style - from the house with kitchen, living room and cellar to gardens, playgrounds and even toy worlds. Along the way, Jerry encounters all kinds of obstacles, enemies and, of course, Tom himself, who makes life difficult for him.

The gameplay of Tom and Jerry is classic: Jerry can jump, climb, run and throw objects such as cheese or small balls at enemies. The controls are simple but precise, and the levels are peppered with hidden paths and bonus objects. Some sections require good timing and skill, especially in the boss battles or during chases with Tom.

Graphically, Tom and Jerry is strongly based on the look of the original cartoon: the colorful 16-bit graphics, the fluid animations and the typical sound effects (including cartoon sounds) capture the atmosphere of the series very well. The music also adapts to every environment and provides the necessary retro charm.
