Diddy Kong Racing is a racing game that was released exclusively for the Nintendo 64 in 1997. Diddy Kong Racing was developed by Rare and is one of the first major racing games on the platform. The story of Diddy Kong Racing follows Diddy Kong, a well-known character from the Donkey Kong series, who sends his friends on an epic journey to defeat the evil tyrant "Wizpig". Wizpig, an oversized, magical pig character, has threatened the world of Diddy Kong Racing with his power and captured the characters. Together with his friends - Donkey Kong, Tiptup, Pipsy, Dixie Kong and others - Diddy Kong must now travel through various race tracks to defeat Wizpig and save the world.

The story of Diddy Kong Racing is told in a playful way as the player drives through different racing worlds and competes against various opponents. A boss fight awaits at the end of each section in Diddy Kong Racing, in which the player must compete against Wizpig or his henchmen.
