Ice Climber

CHF 22.00

Ice Climber, released in 1985 for the NES, is an early arcade jump 'n' run classic from Nintendo that still inspires to this day with its original concept and co-op mode. In Ice Climber, you take on the role of Popo (and Nana in two-player mode) - two Eskimos on a mission to retrieve stolen vegetables from a giant condor. The way there leads vertically upwards, through 32 icy mountain peaks.

The game principle of Ice Climber is simple but challenging: you smash ceilings with your hammer, jump upwards through the resulting gaps and dodge opponents such as yetis, birds or falling icicles. The levels in Ice Climber scroll vertically, and if you hesitate too long, you will be pushed down from the edge of the screen - which means real high score and reaction training.

Ice Climber is particularly appealing in two-player mode - either through teamwork or (unintentional) sabotage. If you play in pairs, you'll realize that co-op can be pretty chaotic!

The graphics of Ice Climber are typical NES: clear, colorful and charming. The music is catchy and accompanies the frosty mountain climb with a cheerful, driving soundtrack.

Ice Climber is an early Nintendo classic with simple but addictive gameplay. Whether alone or in pairs, anyone who loves jumping, climbing and that retro feeling will find a real 8-bit gem in the snow here.
