DuckTales

DuckTales for the Nintendo Game Boy is a platform game published by Capcom in 1990 and based on the Disney animated series of the same name. In the role of Scrooge McDuck, the player embarks on a worldwide treasure hunt - from the Amazon region to the Himalayas - to find five legendary treasures in order to increase his wealth.

The gameplay of DuckTales is varied and strongly reminiscent of classic platform games: Scrooge uses his walking stick as a pogo stick to defeat enemies, overcome obstacles and reach hidden treasures. The levels are freely selectable, contain numerous secrets and offer an impressive depth of gameplay for the time.

Although graphically reduced compared to the NES version, the Game Boy version impresses with its smooth gameplay, catchy music and the charming design of the Disney characters. Today, DuckTales is considered one of the best licensed games for the Game Boy and has cult status among retro fans.
