Dinosaur Grand Prix / JAP

Dinosaur Grand Prix is a time-travel based role-playing game for the Nintendo DS that was released in Japan in 2005 and internationally in 2007 under the title Fossil League: Dino Tournament Championship. In Dinosaur Grand Prix, you take on the role of Taiga, a young boy whose precious fossil remnant called "Big Mother" has been stolen by the mysterious Syndicate X. Your mission in Dinosaur Grand Prix: Travel through various prehistoric ages to recover the fossil and prove yourself in the eponymous Dinosaur Grand Prix.

The gameplay of Dinosaur Grand Prix is reminiscent of Pokémon: You fight turn-based battles against dinosaurs, tame them and collect more and more for your team - supported by intuitive touchscreen controls. Each dinosaur in Dinosaur Grand Prix has individual abilities and "special moves", and you can even experience mini-games such as uncovering (restoring) fossils.

Dinosaur Grand Prix offers over 100 realistically animated 3D dinosaurs, which can be tracked in a collection almanac. Dinosaur Grand Prix also features dinosaur duels in local multiplayer mode (multi-card play, up to 2 players).

Dinosaur Grand Prix combines a classic RPG feel with dinosaur adventure and time travel pop - especially for fans of Pokémon-like games or dinosaur collectors. Despite positive concepts, Dinosaur Grand Prix received mixed reviews and remained more of a niche tip.
