Resident Evil Code: Veronica for the Sega Dreamcast was originally released in 2000 and is the fourth installment in the popular survival horror series Resident Evil. It is the first version of the series to be developed exclusively for the Dreamcast. The story of Resident Evil Code: Veronica takes place several months after the events of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. The protagonist Claire Redfield, who is searching for her brother Chris Redfield (one of the main characters from the first Resident Evil games), is captured by a secret organization. She is taken to an island that belongs to a dangerous facility where genetic experiments are being carried out. Meanwhile, her brother Chris is also caught up in the events.
