Family Trainer: Athletic World / JAP

Family Trainer: Athletic World is a fitness game for the Nintendo Famicom that was released by Bandai in 1986. It was the first game in the Family Trainer series and was specially developed for the Power Pad accessory - a carpet with pressure sensors that detects the player's movements.

In Family Trainer: Athletic World, you control your character through five different disciplines by moving around on the power pad. Your steps, jumps and movements are transferred directly into the game:

  1. Hurdle race - Overcome hurdles by jumping.

  2. Animal Trail - Dodge animals that block your path.

  3. Dark tunnel - Run on slippery floors and avoid bats.

  4. Hop-a-Log - Jump from tree trunk to tree trunk without falling into the water.

  5. Rafting - steer a raft and avoid obstacles such as rocks and fish.
