Battlefield 4 is a thrilling multiplayer shooter that delivers spectacular battles on your PS3 with its Frostbite 3 engine. In the intense single-player campaign, you take on the role of Sergeant Daniel Recker, a member of the "Tombstone Squad". Your mission: to prevent a dangerous escalation between major powers - in locations reminiscent of the movies. Fight your way through action-packed, scene-based missions with vehicles and breathtaking explosions. Despite some technical glitches, the campaign is one of the best in the series so far.
But the real attraction in Battlefield 4 lies in the multiplayer mode: battles with up to 24 players (on PS3) rage across large, immersive maps. Classic modes such as Conquest and Rush meet new challenges, including the spectacular "Levolution" effect. Buildings collapse, environmental influences change the battlefield - for real Battlefield dynamics. Thanks to Commander Mode, one player can intervene strategically from the tablet while others are fighting.
Players praise the gunplay in Battlefield 4, the variety of vehicles (tanks, helicopters, boats) and the team play via Commo Rose - a function carried over from the PC version. The performance is mostly at smooth frame rates, even if there are occasional lags and minor bugs.
The Battlefield 4 community is still active: Matches start mostly low-key, especially on weekends. DLC maps are also playable - however, full servers are sometimes only guaranteed for standard maps
