Batman: Arkham City

Batman: Arkham City is an action-adventure game released in 2011 by Rocksteady Studios for the PlayStation 3. It is the direct successor to Batman: Arkham Asylum and continues the story of the Dark Knight in an open world.

The story takes place 18 months after the events of its predecessor. The mayor of Gotham City, Quincy Sharp, has sealed off parts of the city and set it up as a prison zone called "Arkham City". All prisoners, including the most dangerous criminals and psychopaths, are housed there. Batman is captured under mysterious circumstances in Arkham City and must fight his way through the ranks of his arch-enemies to uncover an even bigger plot.

Compared to its predecessor, Arkham City offers an open world that allows players to explore the city freely. Batman can use his grappling hook and cape to glide through the air, climb buildings and move around quickly. The combat system has been further refined and enables fluid, kinetic battles against groups of opponents.
