Casper's school of horror

Casper's Scare School is a child-friendly 3D action game that was released exclusively for the PlayStation 2 in 2008. Based on the CGI animated film of the same name, the game follows the good-natured little ghost Casper, who is sent to "scare school" to learn how to be really scary - even though this is not at all his nature.

Casper's School of Horror is clearly aimed at younger players and focuses on simple controls and varied tasks. A total of six different levels are waiting to be mastered. Right at the beginning, Casper has to find 30 objects in his haunted house in a kind of hidden object game before the school bus leaves. In another level, the player controls a ghost ship and collects Casper's classmates - in the style of Crazy Taxi. This is followed by fast-paced races through the school grounds, the corridors of the school of horrors and even through an obstacle course in the gym. Finally, in the thrilling finale, Casper's friends are petrified and he has to find them, transform them back and bring them to safety from his rival Thatch.

Casper is accompanied by his quirky but likeable friends: Ra, a mummy with loose-fitting bandages, Mantha, a zombie girl who is constantly falling apart, and of course the cheeky vampire school bully Thatch. The characters and environments are lovingly designed and closely based on the movie. Humorous animations and a colorful presentation create a pleasant atmosphere that appeals to children and families alike.

In addition to the single-player mode, there is also a multiplayer mode in which up to four players can compete against each other in the race levels - ideal for short game nights with friends or siblings.

Casper's School of Horror is a charming game for the younger target group. It offers simple but fun challenges, familiar characters from the movie and a player-friendly structure. For fans of the little ghost and parents who want to offer their children an accessible console game, this title is a good choice.
