Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage is a fun and creatively designed action platformer for the SNES, released by Viacom New Media in 1994. Inspired by the classic Looney Tunes cartoons, Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage puts the player in the role of the legendary Bugs Bunny, who has to fight his way through a crazy cartoon world - with lots of humor, allusions and familiar characters.
The plot of Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage begins with Bugs Bunny being thrown into various cartoon scenarios by a mysterious cartoonist (later revealed to be Daffy Duck). Bugs has to fight his way through several levels, all of which are designed as individual animated episodes - including a haunted castle, a futuristic laboratory, a wild western and more.
Each level in Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage offers new enemies, obstacles and quirky situations. Bugs can jump, kick, throw cakes and use various weapons with typical Looney Tunes humor. Especially cool: Bugs regularly comments on the action with sarcastic quips - just like in the original cartoon.
Graphically, Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage is one of the highlights on the SNES: the animations are elaborate, fluid and perfectly capture the style of the cartoons. The enemies - including familiar faces such as Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam and the Tasmanian Devil - are lovingly realized and true to character. The soundtrack and sound effects in Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage are also strongly based on the original Looney Tunes atmosphere.
Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage is an original, humorous and visually strong game with varied gameplay. Especially for fans of classic cartoons, it is a real insider tip and a piece of animated SNES history.
