Kung Fu

CHF 21.00

Kung Fu, released in 1985 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), is one of the earliest and most influential beat-'em-ups on the console. Based on the arcade hit Kung-Fu Master by Irem, Nintendo brought fast-paced action, simple controls and classic martial arts charm to the living room with this title.

In Kung Fu, you play the fighter Thomas, who fights his way through the floors of a mysterious temple to free his kidnapped girlfriend Silvia from the clutches of the evil Mr. X. Hordes of thugs, knife throwers, acrobatic opponents and nasty bosses await you on the way up - each with their own fighting style and timing.

The game principle of Kung Fu is simple, but captivating: you execute punches, kicks and jumps with just a few buttons - the right timing is crucial. The opponents often attack in groups and come from both sides, which requires quick reactions and good positioning.

Despite the simple graphics, Kung Fu scores with smooth animation, precise controls and a fast-paced gameplay that influenced many later fighting games. The soundtrack is minimalist but driving - matching the intense atmosphere of the fights.

Kung Fu is a true NES classic that impresses with its clear structure, accessible gameplay and high replay value. As one of the forefathers of the beat-'em-up genre, it still has cult status today - ideal for retro fans and fans of cultivated 8-bit action.
