Tetris DS brings the world-famous block puzzle to the Nintendo DS - freshly revised, lovingly designed and with numerous new game variants. The basic principle of Tetris DS remains as timeless as ever: falling tetrominoes must be rotated and placed in such a way that complete rows are created, which then dissolve. But in this version you can expect much more than the classic gameplay.

What makes Tetris DS so special is the creative combination of the familiar game principle with popular Nintendo worlds. Each of the six game modes in Tetris DS is based on a different cult game - from Super Mario Bros. to The Legend of Zelda and Metroid. This means that Tetris DS is not only varied, but also nostalgically familiar.

In the standard mode of Tetris DS, accompanied by classic Mario graphics, you play the familiar marathon Tetris game in which the speed increases steadily. Push mode brings a breath of fresh air to the game: two players work against each other on opposite sides of a vertically scrolling playing field - the aim is to push the opponent back by cleverly deleting rows.

The stylus is used in the touch mode of Tetris DS: Here you move blocks with the touch screen to stabilize a block tower or solve certain puzzles - ideal for anyone who wants to experience Tetris in a completely different way. Also included in Tetris DS is a puzzle mode with over 200 predefined tasks in which you have to achieve a certain arrangement with a limited number of blocks.

In Mission mode, stylistically inspired by Zelda, you complete specific tasks under time pressure - such as clearing certain rows or using certain shapes. The Catch mode, which is based on Metroid, uses a completely new principle: Here you control a central core that has to pick up falling blocks until a 4×4 formation is created, which then explodes - perfect for high score fans.

Thanks to the intuitive controls, the new functions such as the hold function and the preview, as well as the Infinite Spin, which gives you more control when placing, Tetris DS is a real highlight for both beginners and Tetris veterans.
