Bolt for the Nintendo DS is an action-packed adventure based on the Disney Pixar film of the same name. In contrast to the movie plot, the game focuses on the fictional TV series within the movie, in which Bolt has superpowers. It was developed by Altron and published by Disney Interactive Studios in 2008
The story follows Bolt and Penny as they embark on a rescue mission to save Penny's father from the evil Dr. Calico. They travel through various countries, including Italy, Russia, Belize, China and Oceania. Bolt uses his superpowers such as the "Superbark" and laser eyes, while Penny uses her agility and a special vehicle to overcome obstacles. The DS version also offers a mini-game called "Rhino's Mission", in which the player navigates through labyrinths as Rhino.
Bolt for Nintendo DS offers an entertaining adventure for younger players and fans of the movie. The mixture of action, puzzles and stealth elements provides variety. However, the repetitive environments and the lack of voice output could be disappointing for some players. Nevertheless, the game remains a solid choice for fans of Disney games.
