Paper Mario is a role-playing game (RPG) that was released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64. Developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo, it is the first installment in the Paper Mario series and is often praised for its unique style, charming storyline and innovative gameplay.
The story of Paper Mario begins with Mario and his friend Princess Peach being invited to a party at Peach's castle. However, the party is interrupted by Bowser, the famous villain of the Mario series, who kidnaps Peach and takes over the castle. Mario sets off to rescue Peach, reclaim the castle and defeat Bowser. On his journey, he must complete various quests and challenges and meet a number of characters from the Mario universe to help him on his adventure.
